I have had the pleasure of working with several Basset Hounds for North Texas Basset Hound Rescue and received an invitation to their "Bone Soiree", an auction event at Great Wolf Lodge! It was a wonderful evening with other Basset Hound fans, playing games and bidding on various auction items to raise money for this wonderful organization. They work hard to rescue shelter dogs, give them medical attention, foster care and training to help resolve behavior issues. Special thanks to Jim Elkins for taking the photos!

Picking up name tags and schedule!

Guess Who Recalled Off A Cow!

I had a very excited client tell me this week, after practicing recalls over a few weeks, that she was able to call her dog off of several cows! Rolo came out to the front yard and the cows were much closer than normal and he decided to run after them. Kim called to him, he looked at her, she called again and he began to come to her. She pulled out the toy that he only gets when she practices recalls with him. When he reached her she lavished him with praise and a great game of tug!! Recalls are based on relationship and are practiced from low to higher levels of distractions. Kim represents, games, praise, food, toys to Rolo so that when she calls him he always thinks a party is about to begin!Great job Kim and Rolo!
