They are in need of blankets and dog beds....

Hi guys! We heard that the sweet adoptable dogs in the outdoor kennels at THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF NORTH TEXAS are SO SO cold!!!! If you have any extra fleece blankets, or old dog beds, please drop them by! Those sweet angles are just shivering!! Also, if any of you are or know of someone who can fix a heater, one of their outdoor heaters is broken!
This is an excellent video for you to watch if you have a dog that reacts to scooters, bikes, people or dogs when walking. We discuss threshold points in class and how important they are to keep your dog calm. Great example how to use rewards and distance to train!

My favorite dog fact!

Shared from Grisha Stewart,

Shared from Grisha Stewart, Love what Ken Ramirez just said,:"Training is not a luxury, it's a key component to animal care. Is feeding your animal something you do only if there is time? It's just as important, and you have to make time to make training happen."

Tug With Your Puppy!

Did you know that a game of tug can be great for puppies that are mouthy and it can help teach some self control! Learn more at our puppy classes on Saturday Evenings!

Treiball!

Treiball is coming to Taming the Wild Side! We will have our first class beginning in March! We have had many ask what it is....Treibball is a competitive dog sport that originated in Germany and is rapidly becoming popular in the US and Canada. It’s the sport of Urban Herding and a game of impulse control – and it’s a lot of fun! It challenges the mind and body, it doesn’t take long to learn, and it doesn’t need a lot of expensive equipment.

The object of the game is to get the dog to drive eight Pilates balls into a soccer goal in less than15 minutes. The handler is only allowed to use whistles, verbal, or hand signals to direct his dog. No verbal or physical corrections are allowed in Treibball. Are you up for the challenge?
